And the award goes to....

Yippee..... it's us!

Curwood's Adrian Bester and Carole Stockill went to pick up an award from Best of Jersey.

Curwood's came first in the Best Loved Limousine category and 2nd across the UK. We would like to thank all the lovely people who voted for us and to the staff at Curwood's for their dedication and professionalism.

We would also like to congratulate the other winners from The Vic in the Valley, The Rozel Pub and Jersey Goldsmiths.

A ROYAL VISIT AND A VISITE ROYALE

On 4th August 2010 a procession of four black Daimlers made their way around St John ensuring that the roads and byways of the Parish remained open and free from obstruction.

This year is Jonathan Curwood's 35th year of driving for the Visite Royale. Jonathan started work as a mechanic for Curwood's Limousines at a very young age and as soon as he was 21, took his PSV - he had been driving for the company ever since. Jonathan's family previously owned Curwood's Limousines before, in 2007, it was sold to Maillard's, another family run company.

The lead car carrying the Bailiff was our Daimler 420 - a 1989 version, which was one of the last off the production line. The oldest car on this year's Visite was J512 - a 1969 Daimler.

Two weeks later, Jonathan was out about again for the Visite Royale in the Parish of St Peter.

In July, Jersey received a Visite of a different kind - A Royal Visit from the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Curwood's were again privileged to supply a limousine to chauffeur Island dignitaries, including the Bailiff, in the entourage. It give us great pleasure to know how much our fleet is respected by those in authority in the Island but we also appreciate the support they give to our locally owned and family run company.

We are delighted to announce a new arrival to the Curwood's Fleet. - a 1934 Morris Isis

The classic styling, heavenly paint work and beautifully finished fittings puts our Morris Isis at the very pinnacle of elegant and stylish pre-war transportation

A full 13 foot in length, the Isis turns heads like no other as it glides towards its destination - powered by a state-of-the-art (at the time) four speed 20hp engine designed and made by the Morris Motor Company. It was one of the company's first luxury vehicles, as a high class tourer to the upper-classes.

Our Isis is white and blue, with all original features - a fully upholstered blue leather interior with masses of rear compartment space for the biggest wedding dress, antique polished walnut wooden panelling and wonderful rear cabin visibility, with an oversized sunroof. All to give a feeling of complete luxury.

We'd love to see you for a visit in person at our garage to truly appreciate the dramatic understated elegance our Morris can bring to your special day.

CURWOOD'S ON THE PODIUM

The first Saturday of July saw Derek Warwick happy to give up his place on the podium. The limelight on this occasion was Derek's beautiful daughter Kerry as she married Chris Rogers at St Brelade's Church.

Curwood's were honoured to supply a somewhat slower but very grand / regal car for the all important job of delivering groom, Chris Rogers, to the church on time.

J145, Curwood's blue Daimler Landaulette was chosen to compliment the Brides' white 1955 Vintage Mercedes convertible. The Landaulette took the bridesmaids and Mrs Warwick to the church, and after the ceremony, the bridesmaids onward to the reception.

The Curwood's team wish the happy couple, love, health and happiness for their future life together.
